Information about the accessibility of these websites in accordance with Section 12 of the German Federal Disability Equality Act (BGG), as well as related contact details.
The Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection is committed to making this website (https://www.raus-aus-gewalt.de) accessible in accordance with Section 12 of the German Federal Disability Equality Act (BGG). The legal basis is provided by the German Federal Disability Equality Act (BGG), the Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) and the harmonised European Standard EN 301 549, each in its current version.
Compliance status
These websites are only partially compliant with the requirements of Sections 3(1) to (4) and 4 of the Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0), issued on the basis of Section 12d of the German Federal Disability Equality Act (BGG), due to the following non-compliances or exemptions.
According to the accessibility audit report Simplified Monitoring under BITV 2.0 for www.bmj.de (version 08/2023), prepared by Deutsche Telekom MMS GmbH on behalf of the Federal Monitoring Body for the Accessibility of Information Technology, the following content does not meet the accessibility requirements:
1. Criterion: Text Alternatives:
a) Text presented as images is used without alternative text.
b) Some images are decorative but are nevertheless provided with unnecessary alternative text.
c) Third-party content embedded in the social media section does not include alternative text.
d) An inaccessible CAPTCHA is used in the contact form.
2. Criterion: Adaptability:
a) Third-party content embedded in the social media section is not always correctly structured.
b) The heading hierarchy is incorrect.
c) The contact form contains multiple level 1 headings.
3. Criterion: Use of Tables:
a) Some tables on this website are currently not fully accessible. In particular, table structures, header associations and compatibility with assistive technologies (e.g. screen readers) may be limited.
4. Criterion: Time-Based Media:
a) Some videos contain information in the audio track without providing subtitles.
5. Criterion: Distinguishability:
a) Text presented as images is used in several places and cannot be adapted.
6. Criterion: Keyboard Accessibility:
a) Keyboard users cannot reload the CAPTCHA.
7. Criterion: Robustness:
a) Some complex elements (e.g. sliders in the video player) cannot be interpreted correctly by screen readers because of missing or inappropriate WAI-ARIA markup.
Note: Because some assistive technologies do not correctly process conditional hyphenation, an alternative hyphenation method is used. However, in some cases this may not adequately support the flow of text.
We are working to resolve the barriers mentioned or to provide alternatives.
